What's New: Performance

Performance is a deeper view for digging into the story behind your numbers. Six sections run across the top — Key Metrics, Transactions & Profitability, Retail Performance, Health & Cash Flow, Best Performers, and Merchandise Insights — with Filters available throughout.

Key Metrics

Five cards — Sales, Inventory at Retail BOM, Annual Turn, Markdowns, and Inflow — each showing the current value, variance vs Plan (color-coded for whichever direction is actually favorable for that metric), and Last Year.

  • A period toggle switches all five cards between MTD, Last Month, Last 3M, and Last 12M.

Tap a card to expand it in place

  • A "Why it matters" explainer for the metric.
  • A 6-month trend chart.
  • Three comparison boxes: Plan, Last Year, and Peers (peer benchmarking currently shows "Coming Soon").
  • An "Indie insight" callout closes out the expanded view, prompting you to use the trend and comparison to guide your next planning conversation.

Transactions & Profitability

Transaction-level detail: Total Transactions, Average Order Value, and Gross Margin as headline cards, each with its own trending and vs-LY comparison.

  • Four supporting stats round it out: Units/Transaction, Total Units Sold, Markdowns, and Turn.
Currently available for Shopify clients.

Retail Performance

Monthly trends by location, switchable between Sales, Inventory, Cash Margin, and Inflow, with 3M / 6M / YTD / Last 12M views and an All Locations filter.

  • A detail strip breaks out [Metric] Plan, Trailing Actual, Variance to Plan, Last Year, Variance to LY, and the exact period — the same structure as the Dashboard's Sales Trending, extended to every metric and every location.
  • The chart layers Last Year, Actual, and Plan as three lines over the period.

Health & Cash Flow

Two panels, side by side.

RetailORBIT Health Score™ panel

  • Your score on the Poor–Fair–Average–Good–Excellent dial, plus how much it's moved since last month.
  • Below the dial: your vertical average, which reads "Benchmark unavailable" until there's enough peer data, and the score change itself.
  • Five scored components sit alongside the dial — Gross Margin, Sales Growth, Markdowns, Annual Turn, and Inventory Freshness — each with a status pill and a one-line explanation (for example, "23% of sales with +5.4 pts vs LY").

Cash & Margin Flow panel

  • A donut chart of Revenue, Purchases, and Cash Margin with exact dollar figures and period-over-period movement.
  • Two supporting stats — GMROI and CMROI — both compared to last year.

Best Performers Coming Soon

Top vendors ranked by sales, filterable by Vendor, Product Type, or Items.

  • A This Year vs. Last Year chart sits above a sortable table (Sales $ and Units, both TY/LY/YoY) — click any row to highlight it and update the chart.
  • Where this isn't yet enabled for a client's POS integration, this section shows a "Coming Soon" message instead.

Merchandise Insights

Class-level performance, sortable by Buying Opportunity, Fastest Sell-Through, or Slowest Sell-Through, viewable in Retail or Cost dollars, with a Top 10 limiter.

  • Columns cover Sales, Markdowns, Inventory, Vs Trend, Vs Plan, On Order, and OTB Opportunity (its own mini progress bar).
  • A Status column flags each class Buy now or Watch.
